Server 2008 has good option of shadow copy and restore previous version of share drives and folders and files. Shadow copy keep 64 version of each file in shadow copy volume and you can recover full drive and files and folder which is deleted or corrupted with any reason. By default shadow copy is disable in server 2008. When you will click on previous version of drive you will see this message “There are no previous versions available”. To configure shadow copy in server 2008 follow these steps.
1. Open my computer and right click on any drive which you want to configure and click on configure shadow copies…
2. Select drive which you want to configure then click enable, it will show new window select yes now your shadow copy enabled.
You can create manually volume shadow copy.
3. You can set schedule for shadow copy click on setting and set schedule
5. You can create and delete schedule and set according to your network.
